A woman receives the chance to relive the life of her younger self, at a point in her life when the pressures of adulthood become too much for her to bear.
. . . can LITTLE BIG WOMAN be far behind? Taken on its own merits, LITTLE is like THIS IS YOUR LIFE had a baby with A CHR!STMAS CAROL. Though a weak final act sends LITTLE off with a whimper rather than a bang, this should not come as a surprise since it's primarily the rookie kid actress who lights up the screen here. She's much more convincing as a mean boss than the deluded clown who parades around with three white dinner napkins sewed onto the back of her plaid hunter's shirt under the guise of making a "fashion statement." Fortunately for LITTLE, the diminutive title character is on-screen at least twice as long as is her adult counterpart. Because LITTLE comes from Horror House Universal (FRANKENSTE!N and THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON), perhaps an edgier final twist could have been foreshadowed by a title card reading "Nine Months Later," and featured a very expectant big "Jordan." This would have permitted viewers to puzzle out whether she attained "the family way" as a hard-boiled 38-year-old, or if her "R. Green"-like consort cracked her safe 25 years earlier.
